The Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy, 20261 (Policy) is a five‑year, future‑oriented framework that aims to transform Gujarat into a globally competitive, innovation‑driven and sustainable industrial powerhouse by 2047. This is closely aligned with national priorities such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India and Viksit Bharat@2047. The policy focuses on high-value, technology-intensive and thrust sectors, supported by calibrated fiscal incentives for micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as, large, mega and ultra-mega units.
The Policy explicitly seeks to couple rapid industrialisation with quality employment and environmental stewardship by focusing on ‘earning well and living well’, expanding labour participation (especially of women), and building a future‑ready workforce through targeted skilling, internships and research and development (R&D)‑led innovation ecosystems.
The Policy’s mission framework focuses on harmonising the industrial infrastructure with the social infrastructure, rapidly scaling sector-specific parks and special investment regions, and building world-class logistics and digital ecosystems that can support a projected US$ 3.5trillion state economy by 2047.
The Policy is valid for a period of five years from 1 June 2026. The Government Order and detailed guidelines for this policy are still awaited.
