Komal Mistry

What was your role when you first joined the firm?

I first joined PwC in 2018 as an Analyst in Mumbai and was part of the Markets team. At that time, I was supporting the Clients and Industries leader across multiple markets programs

What were your initial impressions and experiences?

When I first joined, I was fresh out of college and stepping into a professional environment for the very first time. Everything felt new and a bit overwhelming, but my team was incredibly supportive. They patiently guided me through each step, sharing the skills and knowledge I needed to succeed in my role. Their encouragement and willingness to teach made all the difference, helping me find my footing and grow from the very beginning.

What experiences or roles did you undertake after leaving?

After leaving, I decided to further my education and broaden my perspective by moving to the UK to pursue an MBA in finance. Living and studying abroad challenged me to step outside my comfort zone, adapt to new environments, and develop a more holistic approach to problem-solving.

The warm welcome I received from my former colleagues immediately reassured me that I belonged here. Knowing I could continue to grow both personally and professionally in a space where I felt comfortable and valued was a major motivator for my return.

How have you grown personally and professionally since rejoining?

I've had the chance to work on a wide variety of projects, each one sharpening my skills and challenging me to keep growing. On a personal level, my experiences here have taught me the importance of patience and multitasking, and they've really broadened my perspective.

What is your current role?

Currently, I am a senior associate in the markets team, where I serve as the financial services sector driver. In this position, I am responsible for driving key initiatives and supporting our strategies within the financial services sector, collaborating closely with multiple teams to deliver impactful solutions.

What contributions are you most proud of since rejoining?

Since rejoining, I have had the opportunity to contribute to a variety of high-impact projects like MIS, Investments, CEO Survey, etc that have greatly expanded my skill set. Collectively, these experiences have significantly diversified my professional skills and enhanced my ability to add value to a dynamic environment.
