Sanjeev Takkar is the General Counsel of PwC in India and part of the India Leadership Team. He heads the Office of the General Counsel of PwC India and manages the firm’s response to all facets of legal management in India which includes litigation, regulatory matters, legal risk management, internal firm services, investigations and other legal matters of significance. He also serves as the primary legal advisor to the India Leadership Team and the Governance Board, and leads the planning, development and execution of strategic legal initiatives whilst managing the legal risks of PwC in India.

Sanjeev has over 30 years of professional experience in leading legal and regulatory compliance functions across multiple jurisdictions. Before joining PwC India in 2012, Sanjeev has worked in leadership roles in GE India with assignments ranging from Chief Compliance Officer, GE India National Executive Office, Region Director Compliance (SouthEast Asia and India), General Counsel, GE Money India and Chief Compliance Officer and Head Litigation, GE Capital India. Apart from the various positions he has held at GE, Sanjeev has extensively worked with other multinationals as an in- house Senior Legal Counsel.

Sanjeev received his LLB from University of Delhi, Faculty of Law, in 1990, which was preceded by a bachelor's degree in commerce in 1987.
