A transformational leadership development approach enabled by a state-of-the-art facility to build PwC professionals as purpose-led and values-driven leaders who will create solutions for a complex, ever-changing world; to deliver programmes for its global talent and train close to 20k workforce in Year 1
Hyderabad, 22 July 2024: PwC in India opened the doors for its professionals to a new, immersive learning environment called Vidyapeeth in Hyderabad that supports leadership development, innovation, collaboration and people engagement. Vidyapeeth is inspired by ancient knowledge systems and brings to life our distinctive approach to developing people as authentic, inclusive, and holistic leaders focused on creating better and sustained outcomes to our clients and the communities we live in. Our leadership development framework views every individual as a unique and whole self, and empowers them to become their best in their careers, personal lives, and civic roles.
The state-of-the-art, 60,000-square-foot facility is unique in several ways and reimagines growth and development, people experience and community outreach for our 57,000+ workforce in India as well as PwC teams across the world. The facility will support the leadership development framework with a uniquely crafted immersive experience. Positioned to help deliver curated leadership journeys to over 7,000 professionals in its first year; it will also provide various other learning and development programmes, focused on digital, professional and industry skills enhancement to more than 10,000 professionals in this fiscal year alone.
During the inauguration of Vidyapeeth, Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson, PwC in India, remarked: “We are dedicated to offering our people a holistic experience that encompasses continuous training, coaching, and opportunities for building meaningful relationships and advancing their careers. Vidyapeeth exemplifies this commitment by seamlessly blending advanced technology with the traditional Gurukul environment. We are thrilled for our people to engage in this innovative space, fostering interactive learning and global, cross-cultural collaboration, and empowering them to become the best version of themselves.”
Hari Kumar, PwC Acceleration Centers Leader, said, “Our focus is on empowering our people at all levels to bring their unique identities, perspectives, and backgrounds – to become value creators at work and beyond. Harnessing the power of our diversity, we are aligning each individual's purpose, passion and talent with personal, business and community needs, and enabling every professional to excel in ways that matter most to them.”
True its name, Vidyapeeth (which means a seat of knowledge) is inspired by the age-old Gurukul system of education and the wisdom of many scholars of ancient India. The massive facility recreates the Gurukul environment where learners are at one with nature. The thoughtfully designed interiors, using sustainable materials, Indian art forms and powerful thoughts on learning from celebrated scholars create a truly encouraging environment for learning, teaming, contemplation and creative thinking. Vidyapeeth also sports advanced technology, seamlessly integrated into the gurukul environment, designed to support interactive learning and global, cross-cultural collaboration.
Beyond learning and development, Vidyapeeth will serve as a platform for thought leadership, industry-academia interaction, innovation, and PwC’s collaboration with NGOs in driving societal change through skills-based volunteering.
