CBIC operationalises online module for granting permission under MOOWR and MOOSWR

In brief

In line with the continued initiatives towards the facilitation and ease of doing business, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has rolled out various online solutions as part of the Indian Customs Electronic Gateway (ICEGATE) 2.0 initiative. Until recently, the application for grant of permission under the Manufacturing and Other Operations in Warehouse Regulations, 2019 (MOOWR) was required to be filed on the Invest India website. The said facilitation was kept in operation till 15 November 2025, pending the roll out of a MOOWR permission module on ICEGATE. 

The CBIC has now notified the operationalisation of the above module and a separate module for permission for operations under the Manufacture and Other Operation in Special Warehouse Regulations, 2020 (MOOSWR) on ICEGATE, along with detailed guidelines provided by DG, Systems on the process to be followed¹.
