The Situation

The client, an Indian captive finance company of a leading automobile manufacturer, wanted to align its IT landscape with the business objectives. The company engaged PwC India to assess its current IT landscape and formulate a technology transition plan in alignment with its transformed business strategy. The client needed to consolidate its IT operations as it had a few business-critical applications operating on legacy systems and infrastructure with its data contained in multiple locations. Continued IT support to business requirements, maintaining local regulatory compliance and optimising IT cost were the key requirements in the target state. The client also wanted a data retention strategy.

The Solution

Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs)

PwC’s community of solvers undertook an assessment of the current state, focusing on business-IT dependencies, applications, infrastructure, data and IT organisation.

The team also assessed compliance with the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) regulations for nonbank financial institutions (NBFCs).

They helped the client with a technology transition plan across applications and infrastructure (data center and cloud). It also laid out the transition options and provided the risk analysis for business-critical applications.

They also devised a data-retention strategy for the target state of operations in the country.

PwC engaged with key stakeholders to identify the scope of work (SoW) for outsourcing the activities of relevant IT work streams and develop the request for proposal (RFP) along with associated technical evaluation criteria and scorecards.

Using the technical evaluation framework, they helped the client in finding the right IT outsourcing partner.
