SSE India cohort 2018 With excitement and gratitude, Shalabh Mittal, CEO of SSE India, welcomed the third cohort of the Social Start-Up Fellowship Programme at their first learning block hosted at Atal Incubation Centre, part of BIMTECH, Greater Noida. He expressed his gratitude to the PwC leaders and the Foundation team who had consistently held hands of SSE India to help it grow and soar.
With 10 female fellows and 9 male fellows, this cohort has witnessed female participation surpassing male participation. The 19 budding social entrepreneurs came together from 10 different states of India for the 4-day residential learning block held from 18-21 April 2018.
With ideas galore, these fellows are determined in addressing issues of social importance through their enterprises. This year the enterprises are in the areas of mental health, education, community inclusion and well-being, skill and livelihood and waste management, to name a few and will reach out to persons with disabilities, transgender persons, underprivileged children and youth, prison inmates and many more marginalised communities in urban, peri-urban and rural parts of India. Encouraged and supported by PwC, the 9-month fellowship programme will help fellows develop their entrepreneurial capabilities, create sustainable business models, and enable them to envision, define & measure the social impact of their initiatives.
