On 22 May 2017, the CR team in Mumbai organised a day-long learning and interaction session with girls who were rescued from human trafficking. These girls were victims of social and physical abuse and are currently housed in a rehabilitation centre. The NGO, Save the Children India, conducts beautician and stitching classes, which will help them in their future.
In the session, we spoke to the girls about building self-confidence, positive approach, financial literacy, time management, the various career options and necessary helplines. PwCites also mentored some of the girls and participated in various games that was organised.
Additionally, there was a session on basic techniques for destressing via meditation/other exercises conducted by an Art of Living personnel. The session was enlightening for the volunteers as much as it was for the girls.
A salute to their bravery in battling the challenges of life! We wish them all a bright future.
Special thanks to our volunteers for making this event a memorable one for the girls
