The thread that binds

70 PwCites come together to interact with the kids from SETU to mark the occasion of Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan is a wonderful reminder of the thread that binds a brother and a sister. To mark this special occasion, the CR team in the North partnered with NGO SETU and organised a visit for the children to our office in Gurgaon on 28 July.

The kids made colourful rakhis along with our volunteers. We saw an overwhelming response of 70 colleagues who came forward to volunteer for this activity.

Around 200 rakhis and 50 tika cards were made which will be sold by SETU at various corporate office kiosks during the festive season.

SETU also organised  an exhibition cum sale of hand-made items like rakhis, sagan envelopes, tika cards etc. at our office. The NGO collected INR 14000 from the sale of products which will be further used by SETU for skill development of differently abled kids.

Employee’s speak:

"Spending time with these special children was indeed fun. The children were extremely talented in making designer rakhis. I got nostalgic of my school days where I would often participate in rakhi making competitions. After so many years, I got to  make rakhis with the same childlike enthusiam. Although this time it wasn't about a competition but I got to relive my childhood. I also got to tie a rakhi, which I made, to one of the children. Thanks to the CR team for organising this initiative”

"It was such an overwhelming experience to work closely with SETU. The purpose of life is to be happy while also being useful, honourable, compassionate, and  making a difference in other’s lives"
