A Corporate Responsibility initiative was recently organised at the Gurgaon office. Volunteers participated in an activity to recycle old newspapers into bags and decorative items. The objective of the initiative was two-fold - i) Create awareness around the toxicity of plastics; ii) Help the underprivileged by raising money with the objects created.
Many professionals took out half an hour from their schedules to contribute towards the noble cause. I personally loved the whole experience. It was amazing how colleagues were coming up with new ideas of making different kinds of paper bags, which made the initiative a very successful one. It was also an opportunity to interact and bond with new people from different business units. There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching out to people in need of help and support. In life, we often neglect the little yet important things, which are true drivers of optimism and purpose in our lives. In order to optimistically drive ourselves towards our personal and professional goals, it is imperative to make the most of the little opportunities that come our way to make a little difference to the society.
