Interacting with school children in Doddaguppi

Fifteen volunteers from the Bangalore office took part in a Corporate Responsibility initiative that was organised by our NGO partner Dream School Foundation in a government school at Doddaguppi, a little place away from the noisy city, on Saturday, 22 July.

Various activities like drawing, colouring and story narration were conducted for 140 students from Class I to Class IV. Drawing books, story books, pencils and colour pencils were distributed to the children for these activities. The younger kids enjoyed the drawing and colouring session. Volunteers also distributed story books to some children and narrated stories to them. Children learnt new words from the stories that were narrated. In addition, our volunteers also taught the kids the importance of ‘Hand Wash’  through a video and performed a demo on hand washing technique. Children were, in turn, given the opportunity to do a demo for other participants. The activity ended with the serving of sumptuous cup-cakes and juice to over 240 children.
