PwC India Foundation collaborated with an NGO in Hyderabad to bring smiles on the faces of differently abled children.
The NGO works towards improving the lives of differently abled people who belong to the marginalised sections of society. The NGO is currently engaging with more than 500 children studying in five different locations across Hyderabad. The organisation is striving to provide quality education to them and counselling these students to adopt careers that not only interest them but can also provide financial security.
PwCites visited these students in a school run by the NGO a few days ahead of Diwali. A group of around 30 volunteers painted diyas with the students and staff members. The lively conversations between the PwCites, students and staff members made a simple activity of diya painting a delightful experience of togetherness.Students were thrilled to see the volunteers and expressed their happiness by active participation. A session on sports was also organised in which PwC volunteers played cricket, volleyball and other sports with the school girls and boys.
Indeed a pleasure participating at the CR event hosted at the "Ashray Akruti" school on 1 November 2018 and proud to be a part of the team. I appreciate Mr. Babu and the teachers who have put effort in making small kids with hearing impairment independent. These kids are now able to write and express their views and are better prepared to compete in the present world.
The PwC volunteers had a tour of the organisation on 1 November. They visited the clinic and a few classrooms to interact with the children. They later engaged in diya painting and sports activities. The team was very energetic and enthusiastic.
